Asset Escrow
What Cfx.re Asset Escrow protects, what stays open for you to edit, and what it needs from your server.
Every release is protected by Cfx.re Asset Escrow. The protected files are encrypted and only run on a server whose license key belongs to the Cfx.re account the release was granted to.
What's encrypted and what's open
| Part | Encrypted | Why |
|---|---|---|
Models and textures (stream/) | Yes | This is the work itself. |
Weapon metas (meta/) | No | So you can change names, stats and damage to suit your server. |
cl_weaponNames.lua | No | It gives each weapon its in-game name; you can rename it here. |
install/ (snippets, icons, vMenu entry) | No | So you can copy them into your framework. |
What your server needs
An up-to-date FiveM server (server artifacts).
A license key (
sv_licenseKey) from the same Cfx.re account that bought the release, or that it was gifted to.
Common escrow messages
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "You lack the required entitlement" | The server's license key belongs to a different Cfx.re account from the one the release was granted to. Use a key from that account, or ask the buyer to gift it to yours. |
| The resource starts but nothing appears | Usually not escrow: see Troubleshooting. |
